Divine Proportions Critics & Reviews
A new theatrical dining experience will let you banquet like a Greek godA new theatrical dining experience will offer Londoners the chance to party like a Greek deity this autumn.
Divine Proportions will offer indulgent nights of food, drink and entertainment at The Vaults in Waterloo, inspired by the ancient Greek myth of Dionysus, the god of wine. The event will be themed around Dionysian ideals of sensuality, sexual desire and gender fluidity.
The evening events will feature a specially designed five course banquet in “Nirvana”, after which they will be asked to make a “sacrifice”.
Before the meal, guests will be greeted by Dionysus himself, and afterwards will be lead by Dionysus’ Priestesses to a party in The Underworld.
The experience is a collaboration between female-led performance group Shotgun Carousel, immersive theatre designer Samuel Wyer and Celine Lowenthal, founder of the The Drag King Collective.
Laura Drake Chambers, Shotgun Carousel’s founder and creative director of Divine Proportions described the night as “raunchy, sexy, unapologetically loud, and if our audiences have as much fun experiencing this show as we’ve had creating it, we’ll have done Dionysus proud”.

The Vaults is London’s home for immersive theatre and alternative arts. Our mission is to collaborate and conspire, embracing artists from all walks of life to come together and inspire others.
Set in a maze of disused railway arches under Waterloo station in London, we encourage those that have a natural affinity to the unusual, the daring and the unknown. We want talented artists from every vocation to mutate their art; to make stuff that is challenging, accessible and imaginative. We are unparalleled, we are unexpected and we are under your feet.
We also seek to prove that sustainability promotes a business, not stifles it, and are always trying to green-up our act.
We are here to feed your curiosity and open your mind. Let The Vaults’ maze of underground tunnels swallow you whole.Awards
